Who we are
This website is run by Dev Dex Ltd ("Dev Dex", "we", "us"). We are a technology consultancy that helps organisations design, build and run digital solutions, and we work with clients in the UK, EU, US and GCC.
Dev Dex is the "controller" of the personal information described in this policy, which means we decide how and why it is used. You can contact us about anything in this policy at info@devdex.co.uk.
What information we collect
We keep the information we collect to what we need to run this website and respond to you.
- Enquiry form details: your full name, email address, message and your confirmation that we may use these details to respond. You may also choose to give a phone number, company name and the topic you want to discuss.
- Correspondence: emails, calls or meetings you have with us, including anything you choose to tell us about your organisation, systems or project.
- Technical information: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you request and the date and time. This is held in the normal logs of our website hosting and security tools.
- Browser storage: two small items stored on your device, one to limit repeated enquiry submissions and one to remember your cookie choice. They are described in our Cookie Policy.
Please do not send us sensitive personal information (such as health, financial account or identity document details) through the contact form or by email. We do not need it to respond to an enquiry.
How we use your information
We use personal information only for the purposes below and rely on these lawful bases under UK and EU data protection law.
| What we do | Why (lawful basis) |
|---|---|
| Read and reply to your enquiry, and follow up on the topic you raised | Your consent, given when you tick the box on the contact form; and taking steps you ask for before entering into a contract |
| Keep the website secure, prevent spam and limit repeated or automated enquiries | Our legitimate interest in protecting the website and our inbox |
| Keep records of our dealings with you if you become a client | Performing our contract with you, and our legitimate interest in running the business |
| Meet legal, tax and regulatory obligations | Legal obligation |
We do not add enquiry details to a newsletter or send marketing messages unless you ask us to or we have your consent. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for automated decisions that significantly affect you.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only where it is needed to run the website and respond to you:
- Service providers that support us, such as our email, website hosting and security providers and, if we turn them on, a form-handling service, live-chat service or human-verification check. They may only use the information to provide their service to us.
- Professional advisers (for example accountants and legal advisers) where necessary.
- Public authorities, regulators or courts, where the law requires it.
If Dev Dex is involved in a merger, sale or reorganisation, personal information may be passed to the new owner on the same terms as this policy.
International transfers
Because we work with organisations in several regions, some of our providers may process information outside the UK or European Economic Area. Where that happens we make sure an appropriate safeguard is in place, such as an adequacy decision, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to a project: up to 24 months after our last contact with you, then deleted.
- Client records: for the duration of our work together and then for as long as the law requires us to keep business and tax records, normally up to six years.
- Technical logs: for the short periods set by our hosting and security providers.
- The browser storage item used for enquiry limits: entries are removed after 24 hours.
You can ask us to delete your enquiry earlier at any time.
How we protect it
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including secure connections, limited access to enquiries and the use of reputable providers. No system is completely secure, so please take care over what you send us by email.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information, or restrict how we use it;
- object to us using your information where we rely on legitimate interests;
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what we did before you withdrew it; and
- ask for your information in a portable format, where this applies.
To use any of these rights, email info@devdex.co.uk. We may need to check your identity first, and we will aim to reply within one month.
Complaints
We would like the chance to put things right, so please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the data protection regulator. In the UK this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113). If you are in the EU, you can complain to the supervisory authority in your country.
Fonts and other third-party services
Most pages serve their typefaces from our own hosting. Our real-estate website pages (English and Arabic) still load some typefaces from Google Fonts, so on those pages Google receives your IP address and basic browser information when your browser requests the files. We do not use advertising or analytics trackers on this website at present. If we add live chat, a human-verification check or analytics, we will update this policy and our Cookie Policy first.
Our website may link to other websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please read their policies.
Children
This website is intended for business users and is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it last changed. If we make a material change, we will make it clear on the website.
